António Francisco Mendes Simões (Tó Simões), was born in Setúbal on August 3, 1965. Attends preparatory and secondary education in this city where he finishes his high school at Bocage Secondary School. Attends and concludes in Lisbon the 1st Course of Fashion Design / Industrial Styling of the CIVEC (now MODATEX) from 1986 to 1990. During the course he is distinguished with several prizes and honorable mentions in competitions for young fashion designers, to highlight, 2nd Prize Young Fashion Designer Intermoda February 1987 (with only 4 months of course), 3rd Prize Young Fashion Designer / Intermoda 1988, 1st Prize Young Fashion Designer / Portex 1989, Honorable Mention "Manobras de Maio" 1989, with the award of a scholarship at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York by the Luso-American Foundation for Development and the Lisbon Subway Honorable Mention, for the work done in the Renewal of Workwear and inspired by the tile panels of the Metro stations. He participates in numerous fashion shows as Young Fashion Designer, namely at the Intermoda and Portex trade shows, ARTEJO, Manobras de Maio and ModaLisboa. In 1990 he is distinguished by the newspaper "The Independent" as being part of the Top 10 of the more influential National Fashion Designers next to names like Ana Salazar. During the Fashion Course frequency he began to travel to International Fashion Shows regularly and to participate in Fashion events in Europe integrating from 1990 the group of Young Fashion Designers, supported by ICEP, who regularly present the collections in Paris at SEHM - Salon International de l'Habillement Masculin. Also included in this group of designers is participating in the renovation projects of the work clothes of the companies Metropolitano de Lisboa (with which he earns an Honorable Mention) and TAP Air Portugal. In 1990, after completing a 6 month internship, he was invited to teach at CITEX (Porto) the Basic Design and Active Sportswear subjects at the Fashion and Textile Design Courses and in 1994 he was invited by CIVEC (Lisbon) to teach Organization and Collections Development. He is the Designer and Fashion Coordinator of the MACONDE company from 1999 to 2004, when he accepted the position of Senior Designer of the company DIELMAR and holds it until January 2016. He develops for DIELMAR all the internationalization strategy with the presence of the brand in the calendar of collections presentation in the most important fairs of Men's Fashion worldwide: PITTI UOMO in Florence, MRKT SHOW in Las Vegas, PREMIUM in Berlin, MODA GENT in Birmingham SALON INTERNACIONAL DE MODA in Madrid, COLOMBIAMODA in Medelin, along with a regular and constant presence with an individual catwalk show in prime time in PORTUGAL FASHION where he is assiduous presence from the beginning. It is also for DIELMAR that he creates and develops the projects of OFFICIAL LOOK of the following institutions: SPORTING CLUB DE PORTUGAL (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010), FUTEBOL CLUBE DO PORTO (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013), SEVILLA FUTBOL CLUB (2012), NATIONAL SELECTION OF FOOTBALL AND PORTUGUESE FOOTBALL FEDERATION - 2014 World Campaign / Brazil and Commemorative Suit of the Centenary of the Portuguese Football Federation, the Estoril Open and Portugal Open (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014) SPORT LISBON AND BENFICA (2015), CIRCUIT OF BOAVISTA / PORTO (2013). In 2014 he is honored by the Municipality of Setubal (city where he was born), with the CITY GOLD MEDAL OF HONOR, in the CULTURAL ACTIVITIES class, on the occasion of 25 years of professional activity. He is an assiduous presence as a Juri of New Talents and Young Fashion Designers Competitions.
