Architecture of the City and the Place

The Architecture of the City corresponds to the Urban drawing theme, to public spaces, to building typology, to layout and, especially, to urban structure and shape; that what Aldo Rossi named as “the discourse of the urban facts” and where Philippe Panerai’s ‘urban project’ is included, comprehending the various domains of Urbanism. The Architecture of the Place focus on two themes: ‘the sense of the place’ through a semiotics perspective, having as a reference Norberg-Schulz’s ‘genus loci’ and ‘the art of the place’, and the ‘garden’ as a cultural expression.
