MISSION

CIAUD aims to promote advancement in scientific, technologic and artistic knowledge in the domains of Architecture, Urbanism, Design and Ergonomics, in a transdisciplinary environment.

CIAUD coordinates core R&D activities, that are applied and developed in the context of masters, PhD and post-doctoral research, ensuring a connection between society, public administration, businesses and non-governmental organizations.

CIAUD is a territorial cohesion agent, contributing, via the Lisbon School of Architecture of the Universidade de Lisboa, to R&D development in the Viana do Castelo, Porto, Covilhã, Castelo Branco and Algarve hubs.

GOALS

CIAUD aims to develop R&D activities in its main areas, through its Research Groups and its braches, contributing towards the advancement of Knowledge.

CIAUD's objectives, are:

a) Promote the deepening of knowledge and innovation in the fields of Architecture, Urbanism, Design and Ergonomics, in a multidisciplnary perspective.
b) Develop research in its fields of relevance, with competitive and applied funding, with society, public administration, businesses and non-governmental organizations.
c) Ensure disseminataion and transfer of knowledge and technology, transmitting the results of research carried out both nationally and internationally.
d) Promote the scientific publication of research developed by its members, as well as dissemination with the professional environment and society.
e) Support scientific and technologic training of researchers.
f) Support the scientific development of the different courses, in their different levels, taught at FA/ULisboa and in the hubs, namely PhD and post-doctorate studies.
g) Promote scientific interchange with centres of excellence, institutions and researchers with similar activities.
h) Strengthen the participation of researchers in international networks of excellence and in R&D programmes.
