The Call for Papers for the DESIGN COMMIT 2024 - 1st International Conference on Design & Industry is now open. The deadline for paper submissions is November 30, 2023. This initiative is organized by the Lisbon School of Architecture (FA ULisboa) operating through the Research & Education in Design (REDES) research group of CIAUD. It is a result of a partnership with the School of Design (ESD) of the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), the Department of Communication and Arts of the University of Aveiro, the OIKOS research group of the Institute of Research in Design, Media and Culture (ID+), School of Applied Arts (ESART) of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB), and the Rethink research group - Research Group in Design for the Territory (CIAUD).
The DESIGN COMMIT 2024 - 1st International Conference on Design & Industry will take place on May 20, 21, and 22, 2024, at the Altice Forum Braga, Portugal. The theme for the 2024 edition is Design for different futures, beyond economic growth, thus the proposed conference thematic areas correspond to the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, preparing the path to achieving the goals of the 2030 agendas.
Submitted papers must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Full papers should be between 8 to 12 pages, including title, abstract, keywords, body of the paper, and images (bibliographic references are included in the page limit).
- Short papers should be between 4 to 6 pages, including title, abstract, keywords, body of the paper, and images (bibliographic references are included in the page limit).
All accepted full papers will be published in the conference proceedings book (with an ISSN/ISBN). The proceedings will be submitted for indexing in ISI, Scopus, EI, INSPEC, and Google Scholar.
After the conference, authors of the best papers will also be invited to write an original chapter for the book "Design & Industry: Scenarios for different futures, beyond economic growth" (provisional title), to be published in an indexed book.
