Researcher Andreia Garcia was co-author of the international project Hydroreflexivity, which emerged from the partnership between e-flux Architecture and “Fertile Futures”, the Portuguese Pavilion at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia, where the researcher was also a curator.

In 2023, under the motto “Water is Life”, the Portuguese Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia focused on the crucial role of water as a reflective agent in the way people live and how environments are shaped. The interaction of water with other factors was highlighted in seven distinct points throughout the Portuguese territory: Tâmega Basin; Douro International Natural Park; Middle Tejo; Zêzere River; Alqueva Reservoir; Mira River; and Lagoa das Sete Cidades in the Azores.
