BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Maria Rubert de Ventós PHD Architect is Professor of Urbanism at the Barcelona Technical School of Architecture ETSAB UPC, and Member of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi RACBASJ.She has been recognized with the National Urbanism Award (Spain 2004. Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda)

Maria Rubert studied Architecture at the ETSAB and obtained her Doctorate in 1993. She has been teaching urban planning and landscape design in the Bachelor's and Master's courses at the UPC. She has also taught courses and conferences at other Spanish universities, and in New York, Santiago de Chile, Mexico, France, Portugal, Germany or Italy.

She is a collaborator of research related to the City of Barcelona, such as: Barcelona. Metropolis of Cities (2015) and Advisor Member for the Barcelona Metropolitan Area Master Plan (PDU) since 2016-2021.

A regular contributor to the media, she has published articles on the contemporary city, mobility, periphery and landscape in various specialized magazines. Co-editor of the Urbansime Laboratory's D'Ur Magazine and Durzine  http: www dur.upc.edu. She is the author of the books 'Barcelona sin Gps' (2021-2022), 'Places porxades a Catalunya' (2006) 'Empire Corner' (2009) and co-author of 'Metro, Galaxias metropolitanas (2001), 'La ciudad no es una hoja en Blanco” (2000, 2014) and '14 parejas y un mosaico. 75 años de vivienda en España' (2021).

She has carried out different residential projects and renovations. She is co-author of the expansion of the Madrid Congress of Deputies, of the Project for the Diagonal Olympic Area, and of the Perú-Pere IV Planning Plan for District 22@, and advisor to the PDU.

She also works as a freelance illustrator.
